3d 4d Fetal Ultrasound – Learning More About It
There are a few things that you need to know about 3d 4d fetal ultrasound. First of all, the thing that you must understand is that this procedure is completely elective.
It is not something that is part of normal prenatal development. It’s main use is to help you to see a more in depth view of your unborn baby and help you to build a bond with them before they are born. This is not something that is used in order to get a better view when it comes to things that may be wrong with the baby, which is why you should not use this as a replacement for a regular ultrasound.
If you are concerned about safety issues, then you should not be. There have been a lot of different studies and research that has been done in order to show that this type of ultrasound does not cause harm to pregnant mothers and their unborn children. This is actually much like the 2 dimensional ultrasounds that you would get as a routine part of prenatal care. The only difference is that the waves are sent at different angles instead of straight down. This allows for the 3 and 4 dimensional appearance of the images.
If you are getting ready for a 3d 4d fetal ultrasound, then you will need to take the time to make an appointment with a provider. Most of the providers work on an appointment only basis and since this is something that is becoming more and more popular, you should book your appointment well in advance to make sure that they have openings at the optimal time. The best time to have this done is at the end of the second trimester. This time will allow for you to get the best images of your unborn baby, which is what most people want from this scan.
You should remember that you will not always have picture perfect photos. Sometimes your baby will be in an awkward position that will not allow for full shots to be taken. Sometimes you can wait and have the ultrasound repeated in an effort to get better quality photos. Making sure that you pick a provider that is experienced and has the necessary equipment to get a great ultrasound is one of the best ways to ensure that you have the potential to get the best pictures.
When you think about this 3d 4d fetal ultrasound procedure, there are many things that may come to mind. It is sure to be a great experience, not only for the mother and father, but you will have a video to share with other family and friends. Taking the time to consider the advantages and the costs of the procedure, you are sure to find that it is something that is right for you. Make sure that you get the most of your memories from your pregnancy- after all, you are only pregnant once with your child. It cannot be relieved.

Fetal Radiology (Hardcover) $101.87 Intrinsic errors of skeletal development are individually rare but of clinical importance because of their overall frequency and their impact on a patient`s life. Sonography has become a routine component of prenatal care, and many of these disorders are diagnosed prenatally. Postnatally, the prenatal diagnosis has to be verified. To this end, fetal radiography is an effective, simple and economic way to establish a diagnosis or to narrow the number of diagnostic possibilities sufficiently to enable pathological, biochemical or molecular studies to be used in the quest for a specific diagnosis. Equally important, a correct diagnosis is required for correct prognostication and parental counseling. This book has been written to assist in the postnatal diagnosis of fetal errors of skeletal development. |

Fetal Behaviour (Hardcover) $111.29 Clinics in Developmental Medicine No. 189Fetal behaviour and movements not only give an insight into the developing brain, as an expression of neural activity, but are also necessary for the further development of neural structure and of other organs. This book presents an account of our current understanding of fetal behaviour as obtained through the assessment of fetal movements and behavioural states. The approach is based on the premises of developmental neurology, and provides important clues for the recognition of the age-specific functional repertoire of the nervous system. The companion DVD contains 26 movies using both ultrasound and dynamic MRI to illustrate the text. After presenting the historical background, the authors describe in detail the patterns of fetal movements and the mechanisms underlying them: They then discuss determinants of fetal behaviour, explaining the impact of different pregnancy-related and maternal factors on behaviour. Other chapters describe important aspects such as fetal responsiveness, laterality and development of handedness, and the behaviour of twins. The final chapter reviews research on the effects of various neurological conditions on fetal behaviour. The ability to assess the functional condition of the nervous system is invaluable to the clinician, as a considerable percentage of early brain damage is of prenatal origin. The structured and standardized description of fetal behavioural patterns proposed in this book improves our ability to understand the mechanisms underlying various aspects of behaviour in healthy fetuses and in those with brain lesions or other risk factors. Because of this, the volume will be of great interest not only to researchers in this field but also to all of those working in neonatology, paediatrics and paediatric neurology.Readership: Researchers in this field, neonatologists, paediatricians, paediatric |

Prenatal Diagnosis (Paperback) $64.48 In utero diagnosis has undergone an amazing revolution in recent years. More tests are available; the indications for prenatal diagnosis have expanded-you can now advise your patients about disorders you could not have previously detected. Clinical exposure to common and unusual problems in prenatal diagnosis is limited.Prenatal Diagnosis: Cases & Clinical Challenges, based on the authors` several decades of experiences, fills this gap.
