Don’t Be Sorry… Home Security Camera Systems Are the Best Way to Protect You and Your Property

I have a true story to tell you

I had just purchased a new home and I was thinking about changing the locks when one day, I accidently locked myself out of the house. I had the garage door opener in the car so I opened the garage door. I stood in the middle of the garage for a few minutes thinking. I was going to replace the locks anyway…. I went to the tool box and I grabbed the battery powered Sawzall. I took it over to the door, and proceeded to cut the handle off of the door. Within 30 seconds, the handle was lying on the floor. I placed a screwdriver in the whole and opened the door. At that moment it hit me. I suddenly realized what I had done. I broke into my own home in 30 seconds with very little effort or noise. I realized that no matter how good my lock was, I could repeat this on any door.

So how do you protect yourself?

We all want to live in a safe and secure place. You wouldn’t want to always be worrying about burglars or criminals jeopardizing your safety. Your home should be your place of comfort and relaxation. A home security Camera System is the best deterrent to a criminal. A burglar will most likely not want to risk breaking into your home if there’s a risk that he’s going to get caught and a home security surveillance system can aid in identifying the perpetrator.

Not only can your home security system deter a break in but you will be able to see what’s happening in your home at all times. Cameras can be placed inside as well as outside your home and most systems can be monitored through the use of the internet 24 hours a day. No matter where you are, if you have an internet connection, you will be able to monitor your home.

So now that you’ve decided to add security cameras to your security system. What type of cameras will best fit your needs?

First, consider what you want to monitor:

Are you looking to monitor general monitoring of your property, interior or exterior, Vehicles or live stock? Do you want to see faces, merchandise of crowds? Once you decide what you want to see, choosing CCTV components becomes easier.

Next consider the installation.

Do you want a wired camera system or a wireless camera system?

Wireless home security cameras are ideal for indoor, outdoor and business use. The cameras transmit live video back to your TV, video machine or PC… all completely wireless.

Wired system can be a lot more difficult to install but once installed obtain their power through the system wiring. There’s no need to monitor camera battery power.

Some security cameras have motion detectors and night vision to only record when they detect movement. If you are willing to add software, you can use your computer to monitor from work or any other place.

Camera types

The most common and useful outdoor home security camera type is the infrared bullet camera. These cameras are weatherproof and can even record a burglar approaching your home in the middle of the night. They should be placed where they are easy to see but out of reach. Cameras with flashing LED’s are a good way to alert a potential burglar that his approach is being recorded.

Dome cameras can also be placed outside as well as inside. You have probably seen these cameras in high security areas. These cameras have a plastic dome shaped protection cover which make them difficult to tamper with make it difficult to see where the camera is facing. Dome cameras can also use infrared for night vision as well.

Spy cameras are tiny cameras which are often put into a common household item such as a clock or a picture frame. These are usually very well hidden so that no one will be able to see them and you can watch them without them knowing.

With so many security cameras and security camera systems to choose from, it’s up to you how elaborate you want to get.

However, there is one thing that I must stress to you…. Don’t wait, you may be sorry.

Purchasing a home security camera system is a small price to pay. In this tough economy, break-in’s are on the rise. I have personally seem several of my friends as well as my family members fall victim to break-in’s. The burglars entered in the middle of the day and in broad daylight. They were never caught.

I have cameras on each corner of my hose in plain sight. I’ve never had any problems with burglars. I believe I know the reason why.
